My independence. Being able to do what I want when I want. It’s difficult coming back to live with my parents, having to listen to them go on about why I’ve not taken my shower yet. I used to have so much independence living alone. Maybe I got tired cooking every day, and maybe it wasn’t the biggest place, but my independence was worth so much more. I miss being able to go off for walks to anywhere without planning anything. That would be rather impossible now. Perhaps in that sense I can understand why countries trumpet their independence so regally.
