My dream vacation would be a 6 month trip to Africa. I’ve wanted to go there ever since I was little. I love animals. I’ve enjoyed the people I’ve met from Kenya, South Africa and other countries. I would go on as many safaris as possible, see the Sahara and the Serengeti and the Sphinx. Walk where the Pharaohs walked, take a cruise down the canal. And I would want to take some time to experience life like an African – a very simple, uncomplicated life where friends and family are everything and everyone shares what little they have with everyone else.

In one of my work places, it was important that we used fire resistant fire retardant on some items. I used to work on a paddle-steamer and the engine room as well as the galley were places in which fires could start easily. That’s why it was important to fire-proof as much of the equipment as possible. Of course, we also need all the necessary fire fighting gear on the paddle steamer. Just because we were going up and down on a river (i.e. surrounded by lots of water), this didn’t mean that we could just ignore the danger of fires. Safety always needed to come first because we needed to make sure that nothing would happen to our passengers.

Something most people don’t know is how I feel about running. I’ve been running on and off, mostly on, for about 15 years. I started running to lose weight. It turns out that running may not be the most efficient way to lose weight (you need some weight training in there too as well as some concern about diet), but it also turns out that I like it and it’s become part of who I am. I am a runner. I run three to four times a week, only in the morning. I occasionally train for races like San Francisco’s crazy Bay to Breakers.

Probably the best of my physical features would be my eyes. I used to think they were dark and mysterious, but having seen others with much darker eyes, I know they are in fact the kind of eyes often described as hazel. Some people think they’re brown; others think they are green. The truth is they are both, a rather lovely green-brown. My best characteristic would have to be my sense of humor. I’m plenty serious, but I like to laugh and I’m quick with a joke. I have a good vocabulary and enjoy wordplay, so no pun is too low. See the title for proof.

My favorite type of music is modern pop. I feel that is usually tells a story or sends some sort of message to us the listeners. Music to me is like therapy. I listen to it when I am down and upset. I need it to work out or else I cannot stay motivated. I like pop because the beat is usually something upbeat that I can dance and sing to. I love singing and my voice is suited for pop. My least favorite music is country because it is too slow usually and I do not like the accents.

The furthest place from my house that I have traveled to was London, England. We went there ten years ago for a family vacation. My dad thought it would be great for us children to see another culture. He was right; I learned a lot and had a great time. I had the best stories to tell my friends when I got back. We went to museums and castles. It was unlike anything I had every seen in the United States. We also saw different cafes and stores. The whole experience was amazing and I still think about it today.

If I had $1000 to spend at any store it would be the Loft by Ann Taylor. This is my favorite store ever so I would love to spend my gift there. I love that store because the quality of the stuff is great and so stylish. They sell the cutest clothes so I would stock up for my winter wardrobe. I would also buy some gifts for my close friends because we all love that store too. I would love to be able to help them out. It is kind of expensive so $1000 wouldn’t go too far, but it would still be great.

I have not had that many jobs in my life, but I have had some good ones. My first job was at a local pharmacy/drug store at my hometown. It was small and family owned, so everyone was really nice and helpful. I enjoyed being a cashier there, but the only thing I hated was the customers. I am more of an introvert and soon realized that a customer service job was not for me. The next couple of jobs I had were at a clothing store, dentist office, and my school. I was unhappy with each of them. I finally found my current job at a corporate office doing accounts payable and love it. I love numbers and math and do not like dealing with people so it is perfect for me.

If I could go anywhere in the world I would go to Nairobi, Kenya. I have always been interested in African culture and feel like a visit to Nairobi would be a great opportunity to see it. I am very interested in animals, so I would love to see the Nairobi National Park. I heard it is amazing with cheetahs, tigers, zebras, birds, and more. They have tours which would be great to see. In addition to the park, I would just love to see the architecture and landscaping. It is a lot different than the United States and I would love to experience it.
